Poetry

Poetry is the magic germinating out of the miracle of life

The Moon Lines

This would be the 14th Collection

19.

Mint green mingles in your mind
And you wonder what else could
You mix to make it dance: try
Melancholy purple around it
And you can hear them dancing
A mint circle petaled in purple
Almost like the earth and moon
Inner and outer layer of one

I wonder sometimes how one does feel
Walking with their father man to man

For I never had the chance to reach
Manhood to reach my father's length

Walk with him side by side leaving
Two men's shadows equally flow

I was always a child till he died leaving
Me wonder how I would have felt or he

Or what would we have talked about and
How? Time makes wonder reach a silence.

My father was a tall man of all order
Never held me close enough
So that I could feel his heart beat

No, he shone distant though left a circle
Of warmth around me always
That encircled me softly surely

Care was given and shown without
Much ado so was love silently as though
Adding any ado was an extra shadow

Yet I wish he had held me close at least
Just once so that I could lift the memory
And examine out his body's fragrant tongue

My mother, I remember, was like a thin
Spring leaf where a constant smile-light
Always spread a series of happy waves
Oh! How that smile caused me lose my words!

Have you noticed the way a lily bud
Pregnant with the baby of space
Expands gradually working through
The light green making it appear paler
Smiling glimpses of white. It grows outward
As though the baby space inside growing
Full of fragrant infusion intoxicated and
Cannot wait to fly out and finally when
It breaks the bud out and flies into
The outer wider mother space almost
Being a near visible butterfly tangible enough
Almost dissolves in the space leaving
The fragrance spread slowly on the
Left out eggshell of the lily bloomed singing

(Ohie, Saahie and Raaneem)

The birth mark of their dad's body
Below the knee they see that looks
Like small stamp and they cannot
Find anything remotely rare or fun
On its lighly dark face stuck on skin

Yet that's what keeps them puzzled
The fact that they have a copy of that
On each of their bodies! Amaged
They are and wonder as to how
This birth marks mark them with
Their father. They now seem to
To look fondly on the genetic kiss

I stand on earth's grace
And walk under the dome of sky
While space becomes my body's home
I stand as a living tree of earth

Each step I take forward
I occupy the space where
I make a print of my totality
I move forward leaving a copy
Of my being there that is kept
In the memory of eternity still

So you can follow my walk
If you can trace my shape-prints
You could if you have the lights
These are the leaves of my living
They are eternally floating in the
Whirlwind of motion creating wind

Or better still let's make prints
Walking together side by side
Like two rays of lights in one
Making and leaving leaf prints
On the invisible float of our
Beings' and living's laughter

Little space opens
A bud
Release fragrances
From a warm heart
Towards another

A warm bud would
Open back
A flower
Towards you

Always open a bud
From the heart
Towards the faces
That you face

Love is when one fails miserably
In distinguishing anguish and joy
Music and melancholy cross line

Let machines be your ride
Yet never be ridden but the rider

This is what you are: on the horse
Of your imagination run and ride
Towards the dusty horizons of the moon

Transforming it into what you see there
Which may not yet be there but would
Soon be elaborating out of nothingness
Because you are still riding on dust's joys

Plant a laurel bush there first
A rose plant second in succession

First to sow the shining-living
Mirror to reflect the sun on a dance

Second to show the lunar space
How space gets to wear ornament

And intoxicate her being into fragrance
And begin to wonder about beauty
