The State We are In
The recent scandal or abuse in Iraq news got out in the media and we have seen
the scenes that take place but we do not see. The problems with public
interests in things and public memory if such a thing exists is not what
happened and where it happened but the massive oblivion that underpins our way
of life and way of thinking. We as public do not want to know. Moreover, where
the publishers take the monopoly judgement to decide which books the public
would like and publish them, where editors decide with their divine knowledge
of the public mind and decide what sort of news to publish. Both publishers
and the editors and their troops exercise a serious and corrosive censorship
in the news that is a commodity. Anyone ever sold anything in the market would
know that they want their commodity to look good if they are at all going to
be able to sell them. No one wants to buy depressing stuff! That is why it is
easier to spend millions in getting so called reality television! The irony is
so called reality television is not at all reality but an imposed reality to
suck the juice out of the participants for the viewers so that the programme
could make more money!
Reality is brutal, bloody and tragic! The globe now than ever is a place,
space and nailed by a time dictated by the global capitalism where we do not
live in or at all connected to the reality! We live in a time of pictures that
sell for us! We think everything is like computer games, murders, massacre,
rapes, hunger, famine etc are nothing but reality of a reality show! These are
not real at all! At best it is stoppable and at worst it is virtual!
We had Afghanistan! War! Reported like a game show, albeit in grand scale! Who
cares what happened after the carpet bombing! Who cares what happened to the
prisoners of wars, who cares how much and how brutally they are abused,
battered, brutalised, tortured and humiliated! These things have no interest
value to the public! They do not produce good pictures and anyway how many of
us living in the west actually knew of where Afghanistan was! There were some
liberal faint screaming about the Guantanamo Bay brutalisation of detainees
who are not detainees but prisoners of war! Americans did not lose their sleep
over the treatment afforded to these poor souls!
Now having done the "Jihad" for "democracy, civil liberties and human rights"
in Afghanistan America then went onto Iraq and there it was: the
democratisation of brutality! All those bombs and missiles fell on the screen
and designed to create for good television news! Real people, children and
women, men and women, elderly, infirm and disabled all died in their hundreds!
American soldiers, British soldiers did their best to carry on killing and
"freeing" Iraq and they tried to win "hearts and minds" of Iraqis as if to say
these "no-brain-subject-to-be-collatoral-damage" called Iraqis are dolls made
of American companies!
In representative democracy, any political scientist would expect and accept
that the media must be an independent institution to offer safeguard for
rights and civil liberties and thus must not become part of the government
bodies! But what had we seen in the coverage of the Iraq War! We saw the media
became part of the government! The media became carefully "embedded" with the
occupying armies of America and Britain! We saw the media becoming a
propaganda machine for the powers.
This has damaged the credibility of the media deeply and will come to haunt
the media in years to come! Let me just give you a personal perspective: over
the last fifteen year I have never missed the news at ten by ITV. To me ITV
was (as opposed to BBC) the best the news could offer. During the war I saw
ITV as nothing but a propaganda machine of America and Britain! I stopped
watching ITV's news channel! It has been more than a year I have never for
once switched on to their news channel! That is how ITV lost viewers!
In fact BBC seemed like a media organisation giving a relatively balanced
coverage including the anti war voices and demonstrations including an
overview of the war. Look where it has got it! It has been taken on and and
brutally put back to its secondary place to the government!
The Newspaper that stood against the government and was once in tune with the
hearts and pulse of the people of this country The Daily Mirror and its
courageous editor Piers Morgan! Look where it has got The Mirror and Mr
Morgan! They not only got rid him but the deliberate disregard and humiliation
offered to him sending him out with security! What does it tell us about the
state of the media now! The media has gone to the control of their owners and
the governments!
When that happens the people, their rights and liberties get corrosively
eroded away! This happens because there are no one to scream in support of
them! We the public have a memory less than fishes! We do not remember! No,
let me put it another way, we forget quicker than quick sand!
We have forgotten the First World War! We have forgotten the Second World War,
we have forgotten Vietnam, India, Combodia, India Pakistan and Bangladesh, we
have forgotten the whole nineties and the deaths, murders and messacre! We do
not want to remember! We do not want to not to forget!
That is why American and the British are the same! We live in the cuckoo land!
We elect our leaders and we let them practise our moral judgement as if we
have taken leave of our faculties for life! Nothing concerns us!
The brutalities, the degradation, the horrific vulgarity, the sheer degree and
level of lunatic revolting and nauseating barbarity with which the American
soldiers went about dealing with the imprisoned Iraqis along the way killing
them and recording them, taking photographs of them do not say that these are
acts done by individuals who are rouges! No this goes to show how systematic,
how doctrinal and how brutally accountable with back up reports with words,
photos, videos and graphics that comes from the top! Bush Administration is
the custodian of Democratic Fascism that is born to establish globalised
capitalism! This doctrine do not believe in democracy, human rights or civil
liberties! This doctrine is based on supremacy, dominance and control!
This happened in Afghanistan, in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay but it happens at the
very heart of America! This sort of things happen and conducted by the CIA, by
the FBI and the Police Forces and the Prison Services! This is how American
Judiciary wants to secure peace for the people who matter! This is why America
still finds it acceptable to legally murder Americans in their death penalty!
It does not bother American sophisticated cultural and political values!
How do we get the real pictures! You get it if you have the money to get CCTV
cameras in very stations where CIA, FBI works, the police stations, the
prisons and wherever power is exercised over powerless! "We the people" accept
it! American and British law legalise assassinations of foreign leaders "for
safe guarding our interests"! Who pass these laws! The very people who we
elect to represent us!
Moreover, we are told that criticising the government is now an act of
treason! Criticising the brutal, immoral and illegal war waged by our
governments are unpatriotic! And there are people who would and do buy these
rubbish! What is so patriotic about killing and murdering innocent people! We
the people: do we need this? Can we do anything about it? Do we feel like
doing anything about it!
The plain truth is this: where there is power there it is to be abused! Power
cannot be used but abused! This at least political science understood
correctly! That is why we tried our best to put up checks and balances,
barriers, divisions powers, and all these people to oversee each other! That
is why we have constitutions, laws, judiciary, law enforcement and the rest!
However, it seem that modern day powerfuls found it absolutely easy peasy to
get round these checks and barriers!
Modern representative democracy is increasingly and vehemently becoming democratic fascism to go with the globalisation of capitalism! America is the leader in it and Britain under the "sheep-like-prudence-leadership of Tony Blair made a choice to be on the train to conquer the world so that it could share the kill in the future! The question is do "we the people" want it like this! Do we really want this to happen that our democracy has been transformed into a monster under our noses and before our vary eyes!
Let's Wipe Out the Whole Palestinian Nation to Secure Israel
Having seen all the irrationality, contradictions, paradoxical farce, at
times, comic idiotic hypocrisy and the violations of anything nearly good it
does not bother us. It does not bother us that the UN could be manipulated to
do everything to get Saddam disarmed, Gaddafi put in line, Iran brought into
the herd, North Korea and more! To secure Israel we would support anything and
everything! Everything is being done to get Milosevic and the like to
International Criminal Court, yet Ariel Sharon becomes rewarded for the
massacre of Shabra Shatila and no one talks about the heinous crimes he
committed against humanity! Then again, these Palestinians are not part of
humanity, are they? Who are these bloody terrorist Palestinians!
Well, I first of all, I want to say that I have come up with a proposal to
ensure that Israel is absolutely and utterly secure! But before I can put my
proposal on the table let me just open my bags and get the thickened blood,
burning ruins, blood stained bones and scattered remains of shot out brains of
Palestinians on the table! Let me get the list of children, women, elderly and
infirm Palestinians who got massacred by Ariel Sharon in Shabra Shatila! Let
me get all the ants that witnessed the dead bodies being eaten up by all the
vultures and let me open the graveyards hidden in their hearts and souls of
Palestinian mothers-fathers-brothers-sisters-relatives-friends and let the
dead bodies, minds and souls of those "lunatic terrorists" who became suicide
bombers and blew themselves up and killed themselves and killed Israeli
people! Let me get all these out on the table! And now finally let me get
Ghandi and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who were branded terrorists! Let me get
Nelson Mandela and all the other leaders became so prominent and respected to
sit with Yasser Arafat and tell him that he has been a terrorist!
Now having put everything on the table I now feel like getting people to hear
what Mr Michael Portillo had to say about securing Israel, which must be the
priority! Why on earth is that! Why on earth the world has so much time and
energy to secure Israel! Is it because they have rich backers of big political
parties and they can control policies by donations in America!
Why on earth people do not talk about Israel itself! Where did it come from
and why! Where was Israel established? In Palestine! Why? Because Jews needed
a homeland! Fine they needed a place where they would not be persecuted and
massacred the way Hitler did. That all was fine! But why on earth then we had
to get all these bloody lunatic Palestinians out of their homes and occupy
their homes, mosques and lands and begin building a country for Israeli
nationality! What nationality is that! Israelis come from all across the
world! They are German, Estonian, Georgian, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Czech,
British, French, Polish, Russian and what not! How do they then become
Israelis? Because they all are Jews! Now one cannot have everything both ways!
Jews from across the globe could come together, got somebody else's country
and become one religion and one nation!
This then must follow that we must have a country in the world that is built
to accommodate all the Catholics and then another country for Protestants. Now
we must then have another country in the world for Shikhs and another for
Hindus and then another for Buddhists! We must have a country for Sunni
Muslims and another for Shiite as these two groups are not going to stay
together! Oh, yes, we must have a country in the world to accommodate
Rustapharians, one for Ahmadias, one for Australian Native people, one for
Native Americans. We must then have a country for Russian Orthodoxy and
another for Greek and more!
But we say India is going communal or Pakistan has gone Islamic or this and
that! We do not demand any of these countries to be built. But we got together
a selection of people from the whole globe and began to call them Israelis!
There cannot be any such thing! They can either be Jews or Israelis.
Because if this rationale is followed then there is no difference between a
Saudi Arabian and a Somalian or between a Scotsman and South African! But this
would create outrage if one claims this should be the case!
Coming back to the point: yet Israel is here and it needs to be secured! Secure from what! From these terrorists suicide bombers! Why everyone so conveniently forgetting one thing that Israeli homes were built in Palestinian graves! Why should they not scream for their own land! Why they become criminal when a Russian speaking broken Hebrew wearing Israeli army uniform is entitled to continue maiming, killing, torturing and walling the Palestinians up!
That is because America supports them! America supports Israel! Why, because
the money-the donation to billion dollars election campaigns are funded by the
American so called Jewish lobby. Moreover, Israel is the biggest of customers
of American ammunition and arsenals.
Hence they support anything and everything Israel says or does! They go and
kill leaders as they wish! The world gives money to Palestinian Authority to
build infrastructures and create jobs and provide basic services and Israel
goes out there and destroys everything: the police, the security services etc
and they scream at Arafat as if he is a superman! As if he had magic. Arafat
survived this Palestinian Authority Ordeal because he was a popular leader and
whatever his shortcomings are his people became synonymous with him and they
accepted him as their leader. If it were any western leaders they would have
been treated as traitors and accused of betraying with the Palestinian people
and sold to Israel.
Yet he was and continues to be branded a terrorist: more than 80% Palestinians
living in the occupied territories are unemployed. Do we at all in the west
think for once as to what these people eat and drink? How they feed their
children? How they clothed them! On top of that the continuous killings,
murders, massacres, burnings and fires, genocides, searches and violation and
intimidation, humiliation and blood shed! How many Palestinian family can you
count that have not got at least one of their members murdered by Israeli
forces or not in prison! Why on earth Darwish Mahmoud has been detained! What
terrorism did he conduct against Israel! Writing good poetry!
Instead we hear: these Palestinian brutes are all terrorists These shit-heads
are all filthy violent killers and suicide bombers and psychopaths! These
Palestinian mothers and fathers are nothing but the brewery to produce more
suicide bombers who are going to blow up Israeli people!
No one ever says that Israeli children are less valuable or their deaths are
less tragic! Count the dead bodies of all murdered Israelis and the
Palestinians and balance it out! Any human being with humanity in their mind
would feel ashamed to call themselves humans having counted the dead bodies!
Both Israelis and Palestinians! Yet Israel is unstoppable! American
administration and Israel want to tell Palestinian people who they should have
as their leaders! Get rid of Arafat or they are going to kill him if they wish
and they have proved their willingness and skill in murdering!
You kill me and I go and kill you. My brother then goes out and kills your
brother. Then their children come out and kill each other until all have been
wiped out! Do we want this to happen! Both Israelis and Palestinians to
disappear from the face of the earth!
Israel now got a good plan! Wall 'em up! Then these shit-head Palestinians are
going to die there and we are going to be having barbecue of peace! The Great
Chinese Wall failed to protect the Chinese Empire! The Berlin wall could not
separate Germany any longer! Yet it is Israel's turn and the world follows
like sheep! Why, because America says so!
I heard at the High Street few years ago two guys talking. They were so angry
on America. One of them said to his friend: do you know what USA stands for?
Without waiting for his friend's answer he added: United States of Arses! His
friends burst into laughter! It might be funny but America portrays itself as
such! It does not appear to people that American leaders are anywhere near to
be called statesmen! Why not? In the whole history of mankind we do not see
many of them. Nelson Mandela is one! Having suffered apartheid he rejected
black form of apartheid against whites in Africa! Hence we have a multiracial
South Africa!
Now with the wall in place CNN got a new theory. Now they see the end of
insecurity for Israel is around the corner! How the wall is going to,
according to their theory, get the Palestinians to seek a one-state solutions,
abandoning the dream of Palestine! Has anyone ever heard any worse rubbish
than this! This means CNN is market researching or conducting a feasibility
study for American Administration to see how a new ethnic cleansing theory or
the fascism that we saw in the eyes of Hitler can begin annihilating the
Palestinian Nation. Wipe the whole Palestinian Nation and make them forever
occupied and live like shit in their own land!
Hence, I come to the proposal! In order to secure Israel, so liberal so
enlightened Tory Mr Portillo set out to seek to achieve, CNN and the like to
explore, let us together wipe out the whole Palestinian Nation like the way
Hitler wanted to wipe out the Jews! This will not take long! They could use
biological and chemical weapons or carpet bombing or something! Then there
won't be any sign of any Palestinians! Well, before that other states and
countries could help this process by deporting all the Palestinians back to
occupied territories and then there won't be any Palestinian left to blow them
up! There we will have secured security and peace for Israel!
We are supposed to be going towards international law, rule of law and
democracy! What democracy! What human rights! It is not about any of this but
dominance, control and self interest of America. Here I must say to our
American brothers and sisters please do no be naive and think you are equal to
your leaders and the establishment! Because you are not! You are as helpless
and powerless as ordinary Israeli or Palestinians! If you were then George
Bush would not have been able to any of what he has been doing! There is no
room for patriotic emotionality as it only serves the dictators! Hitler used
patriotism! Stalin Used it! Mao used it! Mussolini used it! All politicians of
all ages used patriotism for their benefit! Patriotism has nothing to with us
anymore! We must be patriots to humanity, rationality, reason, freedom,
liberty, moral values and standard and a universal sense of humanion. Most
people in Israel, in Palestine, in the Middle East and in the West are for
peace yet we do not have peace! Because the politicians do not want it!
This column is not articulating hatred to anyone or anybody or any nation.
This is not against American people, Israeli people or Palestinian people at
all. It is about the lunacy we are supporting! It is about the crimes being
committed by our leaders that we are supporting by not opposing it. According
to Robindronaath Thaakur (Tagore) the guy committing the crimes and the guys
accepting it are the same! Hence these international crimes have a lot of
hands bloody! These are our hands! Yours! Mine! We the people must not leave
the thinking to the leaders! We must think, if we at all would like to say
that: no we will not have bloods on our hands!
You cannot elect somebody to represent your mind and soul and to let them do
the thinking for you! We must think for ourselves as we are not slaves or
sheep!
Israeli people must begin to think! They must begin to seek peace and begin to
get out of the cycle of hatred! Palestinians too! Hatred is the graveyard of
humanity and the only people we burry there are our flesh and blood! Our
brothers and sisters and our children! Let’s not have our bones play ghostly
horrendous noise in the graveyard of humanity! Let us work for peace and act
against hatred!
Left Right, Right?
The infinite fixation and paranoid obsession of political leaders across the
globe in a timeless dimension about getting claps, floral tributes and
standing ovations is universally acknowledged by people and media alike as
something cynical, yet nothing seems to have any impact on these ludicrous
political animals in their pathetic attempts to spin people to like them,
flood them with floral wreaths and standing ovations.
The western world had monopolised in the political jokes that the communist
world and their leaders in particular were the idiosyncratic fools in trying
to get their comrades clap on their feet! No one would dare sitting down and
hence the standing ovation would last literally forever! That was then and
that was true. Yet one cannot say that that was that for the reason that the
west has imported that ill caricature of desperate politicians and seems to
have been able to utilise it without the public cynicism! Until now, that is!
The situation could not be more idiotic in the current context of political
arms wrestling that goes on around the political field where, since the
collapse of the communistic so called world and the cold war all the political
parties have been put in a limbo as to try their utmost to determine their
stance on the political coliseum of gladiatorial dog fights. Left and right or
centre or far or near does not mean anything any longer.
The communists, the social democrats, the conservatives (be they passionate,
compassionate or psychedelic!), labours or republicans or Christian democrats
all have one thing in common: they want to run a free market economy in the
globalised world scene! They can hardly be differentiated at all. Hence the
political crisis we see brooding in our global capitalist economies and
political power bases in the world!
The media seems to have got itself tangled up with the idea that the
conservatives would be better off with a new leader! What is this new leader
going to do! Is he going to say that he had invented a new socio-political
system of government, which is better than the current one! What is left now
and what is right?
The answer is there is no left or right! There is no a tension or competition
between two systems of government but the monopoly of one system across the
globe! And America seems to have decided to take it over and establish its
authority by any means and destroy the United Nations and its credibility in
terms of its works in establishing the philosophical base of the principle of
rule of law, due process of law and international laws and conventions.
Tony Blair may be hated, albeit, rightly, to go with Bush’s fishy agenda,
however, in a geo-political sense what else could he have done! Politicians
are not, at the very least, treated as a bunch of mythically ethical and
philosophical animals that are well known for their righteous decisions in
history. Tony Blair wanted to be in the winning side, as that would be better
than being righteous in his mind! He wanted a stake in the cake as a winner.
Time has come to see this new necessity of vacuum of serious political
philosophy and new creed of language and values to define our boundaries,
institutions and expectations.
All now are to be divided into two groups of parties; one is democratic
fascists and democratic “peopleist”. The people at the moment would tend to go
for these peopleist parties like the Libdems and the like and the others would
be on the democratic fascists’ denomination.
One could argue extremist or radical and less extremist or radical wings in
each group; however, one cannot rationally see any fundamental differences in
this classification.
The people are, at the same time different, than any other time in history.
Nothing would bother them if their pockets, jobs, homes and investments are
safe. They do not care or to be blunt, give a damn about whether their leader
lies or does fishy-wishy-washy- blown-up-interno-sexuaso drama at the highest
office! It does not matter! Another group in the mass are taking a piss on the
political system by not giving a damn about what the credentials of the
candidates are. If a governor candidate says he likes Hitler a lot or fascism
was to be the best thing that ever happened to mankind, people did not seemed
to bother! Do they? So long he or she has a lot of fame and money to spend in
the election campaign!
Well let’s talk about that another day. Coming back to the standing ovation
fiasco, spin and manipulating the audience structures people are not
convinced. They want lot of claps and lot of little in between ovations, as
though these leaders are pregnant and nauseating and they need to eat little
bites of itsybitsies every few minutes. Tony Blair got a long standing ovation
alright, didn’t he! Why not IDS as well? Well, he did, didn’t he! But he
needed more than an “at- last-final” ovation. He needed a lot of itsybitsy
standing ovations.
Shame one these cowards, who need to attend self esteem and confidence
boosting classes so that they do not feel so small all the time so that to
boost their egos need people to clap and stand!
